Mexico, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) At least four international oil companies are now seeking to qualify in the third phase of the Mexican Ronda Uno (Round One), for which 10 oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico are offered.
These are deepwater wells in the contest of greater importance in the implementation of the energy reform that, at this stage, has an expected investment of at least 44 billion dollars.
According to the National Hydrocarbons Commission, on January 29, the companies of American origin Chevron Energía de México and Hess México Oil and Gas, as well as the Dutch Shell Exploración y Extracción de México and the French Total E&P México, already began the process.
Since December 17, when the bidding was launched, 16 companies were interested, but those four are the most advanced in the delivery of documentation and accreditation regarding affordability, finance and experience in the field.
