Washington, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina) The American Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, former senator from the state of Pennsylvania, announced he is leaving the electoral race and support the candidacy of Marco Rubio.
Santorum's decision is the result of the recent vote in the assembly of Iowa, where he only reached one percent of the votes in dispute, clearly surpassed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and Rubio, senator from Florida. According to polls by CNN and Fox News, the Pennsylvania legislator began this year's race for the White House without getting more than a three percent approval in voting intention of the Republican electorate.

Santorum, together with Mike Huckabee and Paul Rand, is the third Republican candidate to give up his presidential aspirations, after learning the results of the caucus in Iowa, held last Monday.
