Ankara, Feb 12 (Prensa Latina) The Turkish Government announced the end of military operations against the illegal Workersâ�Ö Party of Kurdistan (WPK) in the district Cizre of the southeastern province of Sirnak.
Efkan Ala, ministry of Interior of Turkey, indicated today that the army and security forces of this country managed to defeat the outbreaks of this independent Kurdish organization, following the killing of 597 members in the last two months.

The imminent end in few days of the offensive in Cizre had been announced by Ala in the statements made on February 2nd, when he also referred to the end of actions this month in the southern district in the province of Diyarbakir, where the clashes still continue.

Nevertheless, the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) said last Tuesday that new operations will be staged against WPK in other sites of the southeast, like districts Idil, Nusaybin and Yuksekova, in the provinces of Sirnak Mardin and Hakkari, respectively, where this party continue active.
