xi rep checaBeijing, Mar 24.- Chinese President Xi Jinping will travel to the Czech Republic and later to the United States to participate in the Fourth Nuclear Security Summit, reported Lu Kang, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry. According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Xi will make a state visit to the Czech Republic from March 28 to 30, invited by his counterpart from that nation, Milos Zeman.

In September 2015, the president of this country said that China and the Czech Republic are to continue to consolidate the political basis for bilateral relations and promote cooperation in various fields.

He also considered that bilateral ties have maintained a rapid development and in this regard urged both sides to strengthen high-level exchanges and dialogue at various levels.

At the conclusion of his tour of the country in Central Europe, Xi, at the invitation of US President Barack Obama, will attend the Fourth Nuclear Security Summit, scheduled for March 31 and April 1 in Washington.

This will be the third time Xi visits U.S. as Chinese president since coming to office in 2013.

The nuclear summit, celebrated in Washington during its first edition of 2010, looks to foster international cooperation on security in that area.
