Caracas, Apr 5 (Prensa Latina) The Government of the Capital District (GDC) starts today an information plan to make public the sanctions against those who sell regulated items at a premium (practice known as "bachaqueo").
Through this initiative, people will know the time in jail for people who sell regulated basic products at speculative prices, said head of the GDC Daniel Aponte.
We will also let people know about the number of tax units that citizens should cancel if they are caught up committing this crime, so they do not keep extorting money from the people, Aponte added.
Last week, the GDC started a special plan against the "bachaqueo", along with State institutions like the Superintendence of Fair Prices, Caracas mayorâÖs office and the Bolivarian National Guard.
Aponte warned about the complicity between private companies and the network of "bachaqueo", which pays in advance for the products, and urged the people to stop acquiring articles through this illegal practice.
We know about the need to obtain products that are hard to get in the public or private sector, but if we close the door to "bachaqueo", they will remain with the products and will not be able to trade with speculative prices, he said.
