Addis Ababa, Oct 16 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appointed on Tuesday a new cabinet that is half female, as part of the reforms promoted in recent months.At the same time, the Ministry of Peace was created, headed by Mufuriat Kami, becoming one of the 10 women members of the Council.
Other nominations include Adanech Abeebe to head the Treasury and Dagmawit Moges in Transport.
Legislators also approved a reduction in ministerial positions from 28 previously to 20 now.
'The new cabinet is expected to reform their respective entities, remove walls of bureaucracy, bring innovation and technology to deliver services efficiently,' he added. In Africa, only Rwanda has made similar progress in creating an inclusive government.
