Singapore, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) The ministers of Defense of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Friday signed a joint declaration in Singapore in which they pledge to promote regional peace and stability. They will create a virtual network of experts to counteract the chemical, biological and radiological threats by terrorist groups and dishonest states, The Straits Times reported.
The ministers signed a code of conduct to reduce the possibility of accidents that could escalate in a conflict, especially with the increase in air traffic in the region.
Its guidelines support the existing aviation standards and the national and international legislations, as well as ASEAN's principles of transparency and mutual trust.
