Caracas, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan authorities of Miranda state remain alert on Friday to the recent heavy rains in that region, said Governor Hector Rodriguez.

Numerous teams work in the attention to the contingencies derived from the precipitations, that caused the overflow of a place called La Guairita, in the municipality of Baruta, and blocked the passage of vehicles in the zone, Rodriguez reported.

'We are monitoring the entire territory in coordination with the security, prevention and municipal bodies, to deal with the damages generated. Situations are reported in the municipalities Guaicaipuro, Los Salias, Baruta and El Hatillo,' Rodriguez said on his Twitter.

For its part, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology reported floods in areas such as San Antonio de los Altos, Los Castores, Los Lagos and Los Teques, in Miranda state.

For Friday, conditions of abundant cloudiness with rain and drizzle due to the displacement of a tropical wave on the east of the country are predicted, said the report.
