Defenders of the Peace Agreement must wait until the next legislature to present the legislation again, on which the President of the Congress, Ernesto Macias, said that it was not enough time to vote before December 16, when the Congress goes into recess.

In the opinion of the Senator of the Social National Unity Party Roy Barreras, 'the Democratic Center preferred to sacrifice what for them is the legal security of the military, in order to sink the seats of the victims and that is a clear demonstration of their indolence.'

Likewise, Senator Armando Benedetti, also from the so-called U party, criticized the collapse of the reform that favors the victims and considered it a breach of the Peace Agreement.

'We are breaking the agreement as a State, we could say that the State committed perfidy,' Benedetti said.

After the new postponement of the seats, the senator of the Common Alternative Revolutionary Force Carlos Antonio Lozada said that the Colombian State and the government of President Ivan Duque are not complying with Colombia and especially with the victims of the war.
