Buenos Aires, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) Argentine former Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana warned Monday of the United States'' political pretension to remove Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from office, while warning of possible military intervention in that country.

In statements to the radio program Salvemos Kamchatka, broadcast by FM radio station La Patriada, the current congressman of the Parlasur underlined that the caravan of supposed humanitarian aid that tried to enter this brother country by force last weekend 'wanted to force a great mobilization very similar to an entry by force, to an invasion'.

Taina ratified that there is a clear intention of the United States to remove Maduro and questioned how that country has not expressed because of the situation in Brazil, where there is a deep crisis, but because of the crisis in Venezuela.

'The self-proclamation of (Juan) Guaido is a coup d'état plain and simple', remarked the former Foreign Minister to that media, who stressed that 'the countries have to recognize the effective government and that is undoubtedly Maduro's', he said.

He also added that he has no doubt that 'the Venezuelan crisis is aggravated by the international economic blockade' and that today 'there is still a military intervention in Venezuela, despite the fact that a large part of the U.S. establishment does not want armed action.
