La Paz, Mar 6 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales on Wednesday delivered a new educational infrastructure in the Amazon department of Pando (north), and asked local authorities to give priority to education in the area.
A cultured town is a free town and, therefore, to give priority to education is important, Morales said in the Santa Lourdes unit, in Bella Flor municipality.
The work delivered on Wednesday demanded an investment of 3.2 million bolivianos (almost more than 400,000 dollars), an amount financed with resources from the program 'Bolivia Cambia, Evo Cumple' (Bolivia Changes, Evo Keeps his Promises).
This kind of work is not a gift from Evo, it is your vote, because with union power, we could not nationalize natural resources. Political power and winning elections were important, the Head of State recalled.
The President highlighted Pando's initiatives to boost productive programs, because a better quality of life of the population is guaranteed.
Pando gives much hope in the agricultural issue to Bolivia. I welcome the mayor's offices initiatives to create new productive programs, because these small and medium investments allow improving the quality of life, he said.
Morales also stated that when the highways connecting the department with the rest of the country are concluded, a 'demographic explosion' will be generated in that Amazonian region, for which it is necessary to be prepared.
