Brazilian President To Seek a Political Pact With Governors

bras dilmaBrasilia, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian president, Dilma Rousseff meet with governors all over the country today, seeking to bring positions closer and achieve a pact that will allow to overcome the complicated politic-economic situation.
Of the 27 leading representatives of the territories of Brazil, 26 confirmed their presence at this event, as Mato Grosso do Sul will send its deputy government, noted the government spokesmen.

The fact is to achieve a governability pact to ensure the implementation of fiscal adjustment measures and support in Congress to sanction the proposed cuts before the difficult economic situation and the breakdown of relations between the leader of the Chamber of Deputies, Eduardo Cunha, with the executive, noted the sources.

Rousseff is also expected to be accompanied by her vice president, Michel Temer, the Civil House Ministers, Aloizio Mercadante; Planning, Nelson Barbosa, and Treasury Minister, Joaquim Levy.

Among the topics to be discussed appear governability, Federative collaboration and fiscal responsibility as well as the president is expected to announce some measures that will benefit the states.

Before the meeting, governors will hold a meeting to get position closer and seek consensus around some proposals the head of State will submit.

For the leader of Maranhao, Flavio Dino, of the Communist Party do Brazil, the president must assure support of the highest state authorities as a way to gain strength and build a national agenda.
