La Paz, Nov 5 (Prensa Latina) The Minister of Economy and Finance of Bolivia, Luis Arce, stated on Tuesday during a press conference that the opposition-led strike causes damages to different sectors.
'The greatest losses are recorded in transport, storage, commerce, services, also in public administration institutions, although on a smaller scale,' he confirmed.
Arce stressed that all this came before the measure announced yesterday by the Pro-Santa Cruz Civic Committee, which he said will increase the negative impact.
'By taking over our national tax offices, by blocking borders, we will stop receiving tax and customs collections,' Arce explained.
He added that this will affect the income of the General Treasury of the State, and thus harm the population.
According to Arce, unemployment also affects several industries in the country, and he stressed that this has already been particularly felt in Santa Cruz.
Consequently, he reiterated that the anti-government actions of the Pro-Santa Cruz Civic Committee and other departments significantly damage the national economy, and harm the population.
