Bogota, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) The National Strike Committee in Colombia on Tuesday agreed to strengthen the protests unleashed in the country since the November 21 mass mobilization against government measures, in rejection of violence and for peace.
We call a national strike this November 27 in a new national day. Against Ivan Duque's 'paquetazo' (a series of proposed labor and pension reforms, privatizations, and tax increases) and as a tribute to Dilan Cruz (who passed away after being seriously injured by an agent of the Mobile Riot Squad in a peaceful protest, 'The Strike Goes On!' he said.

In this regard, he said that tomorrow they will demand the dissolution of the Squadron, the purification of the police and the collapse of the tax reform promoted by the government, because it is considered to violate the Colombian people's interests.

The Committee also agreed to maintain citizen mobilization, support protest actions in a peaceful manner and to hold union, communal, popular and neighborhood assemblies this weekend throughout the country, so that social mobilization can be coordinated.

The Departmental Strike Committees must meet permanently, attending their assemblies and expressing their support for national negotiation, he said.
