Islamabad, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) The Pakistani government strongly condemned today a recent attack by a U.S. drone in a tribal area, west of the country, after considering that such actions violate national sovereignty and international law.
These raids have a negative effect and generate distrust among the population of tribal areas, stresses a statement signed by a spokesman from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khalilullah Qazi.
"We condemn those attacks that ignore our territorial sovereignty and international law," stresses the note, which calls the Pentagon to stop those raids.
A U.S. unmanned aircrafts (drone) fired at least two missiles at a house in the Lawara Mandi area, in the tribal agency of North Waziristan.
About five alleged members of the Haqqani Network, an allied group of the Afghan Talibans and considered one of the most active and feared groups in the neighboring nation, were killed in the bombing.
