Seoul, Aug 13 (Prensa Latina) South Korea and the United States will develop this month a joint exercise with heavy artillery, with which they will try to warn about their power to the northern side of the peninsula, the South Korean Defense Ministry announced.
The military exercises will show that the national Army is prepared for combat and is able to respond and destroy, by means of joint operations with the United States, any provocative enemy, said the communique issued by the ministry.

Then military authority said the maneuvers answer to a supposed violation by Pyongyang, which was accused of placing mines instead of the dividing line between both sides of the Korean peninsula.

That explosive device caused injuries to two sergeants that dared to go all over the demilitarized border zone.

The joint military exercises will include four stages, with the participation of around 2,000 South Korean and US soldiers.
