Caracas, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) Authorities of defense and economy of Colombia and Venezuela debate today in this capital a binational plan to solve the problems along the border, as part of agreements reached by the two governments on Monday.
The working day was agreed by the presidents of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and from Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, to take the first steps to eradicate the borderland phenomena such as smuggling and paramilitarism.
Maduro and Santos stated that the whole process of shaping strategies will be based on respect and adherence to international law.
According to the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez, the issues of the day in the meeting are the attacks on the currency of that country, the containment of drug trafficking and criminal armed gangs confrontation.
Last night, Maduro stated that the creation of a fair trade system for fuel will also be discussed.
According Caracas and Bogota, the intention is to build a common program to find solutions to problems in the border region and to promote good neighborliness and development.
