Sanaa, Jul 10 (Prensa Latina) The new leader of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), Qassim al-Raymi has called for attacks on the United States in an audio recording.
"All of you must direct and gather your arrows and swords against it," ordered al-Raymi in his speech.
The communique, released from an unkown place, adds that AQAP continues loyal to al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri and committed with his orders, in contrast to the Islamic State (IS) that also operates in southern-eastern zones of that Arab country.
"God has helped you against this enemy, for not only did you reach its home, but with praise to God and His grace, you have reached the depths of its heart," added the communique in reference to the September 2001 attacks against the Twin Towers in New York, of which Al Qaeda claimed responsability.
Qassim al-Raymi succeeded Nasser al-Wuhayshi as military commander of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula after Wuhayshi was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen's south-eastern city of Mukalla last month.
Meanwhile, a ceasefire of the Saudi-led air attacks is expected to be enforced at 23:59 local time, accepted by the Houthi movement Ansar Allah and loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who fight against the followers of President Abd Rabu Mansur Hadi.
