Cuba Receives 204 Books Donated by the Institute of Spanish History

cuba espana donacion1Havana, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Institute of History (IHC) received today 204 books published between 1858 and 2011, as part of a collaboration agreement with Spain that includes the exchange of documents of great relevance for both countries.
The texts contain diverse information on the independentist struggles of 1868 to 1898 in this nation and are in digital and printed format. Also among the materials delivered are military records and operations carried out, trials and studies, as well as publications of the Spanish press of the nineteenth century.

According to the director of the IHC, René González, after the signing in September 2016 of an agreement with the Institute of History and Military Culture (IHCM) of the European country, began the cooperation between both entities, which includes joint investigations.

'We started with the bibliographic exchange, as part of which Cuba sent hundreds of copies of rare and valuable books to Spain about our wars of independence. For its part, the IHCM provided, for example, the service sheets of the military against whom we fought for 30 years,' he said.
