Evo Morales Thanks Mass Participation in Tributes to Che

evoLa Paz, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales has thanked today the domestic and foreign delegations that attended the mass event marking the 50th anniversary of Ernesto Che Guevara''s assassination in Bolivia.
'Thanks to all delegations for participating in this great tribute. Bolivia and the world, will not forget Che, Patria o Muerte, Venceremos! (Homeland or Death, We Shall Overcome!),' Morales wrote in his Twitter account @evoespueblo.

The tribute, presided over by Evo Morales, to the Argentine-Cuban guerrilla brought together representatives of social movements from Latin America and Europe, as well as intellectuals from several parts of the world.

Che's children and siblings also attended this event to pay tribute to the Commander, who is a symbol in the struggle for equality and social justice, internationalism and solidarity.

'The U.S. believed they would defeat Che by murdering him. The only thing they did was to spread his revolutionary example worldwide,' Morales tweeted.

International events and a pilgrimage to La Higuera - where Che was killed - were some of the most emotional activities.

Vice President and Commander of the Cuban Revolution, Ramiro Valdes, as well as high-ranking officials from Latin American nations, met in Bolivia to reaffirm the validity of Che's thinking.
